About us.
I didn’t set out to do web design. After studying media studies, many years ago, I realised that I enjoyed the digital side of things. I like order and simplicity. Later, I set up (with a colleague) a magazine and ran that and it’s website for about 10 years. With many years experience in the media and digital industry, I decided to set up my own business.
I want this website to be understood by our visitors. Visitors should not be scared by ‘tech’ and ‘website’ jargon. Information and text is kept as clear as possible on purpose. We strive to be transparent and this is one of the reasons why we include our website design and maintenance fees.
Our approach is to deliver an affordable website that the visitor will enjoy navigating and find information easily. Simple as that!
User experience (UX) is core to our design values. We like to steer clear of pop-up boxes and fussy, crowded pages. Let the content shine through and let images help to tell the story.
From traditional to contemporary designs, we can create a web presence that will suit your business brand. We build websites for clients in London, Surrey and the UK.
As we build your website, we think about how search engines will find it easily. SEO (Search Engine Optimisation) and web design go hand in hand. Your website should not only look good, it should be easily found by Google.
I hope that you enjoy looking around this website, find information easily and if you do have any questions, drop us an email. Oh, and we promise we won’t call you unless you want us to!
The Design
Process.
Plan
Thank you for deciding to work with us to build your new website. Well-designed websites are well-thought-out so we consider this part of the process to be the most important part.
We will consider the following questions …
1. What is the goal of the website?
2. Who is your audience?
3. The look of your website?
4. How many pages do you require?
5. What sorts of features/content would you like?
Build
The next step is to start to build content for the individual pages. We work together on this and we communicate every step of the way to ensure that we are going in the right direction
We will consider the following questions …
1. Do you have text? Send it to us and we can edit it for SEO purposes. This will help Google to find your website.
2. Do you have quality images? If not, we can source images for you.
3. What features would you like and where eg image sliders, contact forms, social media?
4. We think about the colours and fonts that best reflect your brand?
5. Do you have a logo and where would you like it?
Launch
It’s time to celebrate! This is the time when the website goes live and it can be found on the World Wide Web.
We will consider the following …
1. Everything has been checked and the website has been proof read.
3. We configure all emails so that you can receive emails from the contact form.
4. We let google know that your site is ready to be indexed and add a sitemap.
5. We add your new business to Google My Business and Google Analytics.
Maintain
After your website is launched, you will need to think about how to maintain it so that it continues to run smoothly.
What does maintenance involve?
1. Update your plugins, theme and wordpress. You will need to check on them regularly.
2. Make regular copies of your website in case something happens to it.
3. Check on the security of your website regularly?
4. Add new text and images. Add new pages and features when you need to.
5. Check that all links are working etc?
“Since my website has gone live, my business has rocketed mainly through customers contacting me through my website.”
PROCESS.
Our easy to understand 4 step plan to build your website
1. Plan
After you have decided to work with us on your new website, we begin to plan out the content.
Most clients usually have 5-10 pages, text, images and a variety of features eg text, images sliders, contact forms, maps. If it’s something a bit more specific you need, ask us and I am sure we can find it for you. We decide together where everything goes.
2. Build
This is where the client sends us the text, images and other resources for the website.
We will start to build the website using WordPress and other software. We have already discussed the look of the website, colours, fonts and design elements. From time to time, I will ask you for your feedback so that we are both in sync. The website will be available for you to see as I build it and you can suggest as many changes as you like.
3. Launch
This is when the actual website goes live and can be seen on the World Wide Web. It’s time to celebrate all the hard work!
Every page is checked and double checked before launch. The emails are configured and the contact form is checked so that the client can receive emails. Your business is added to Google My Business and Google Analytics (if requested). We monitor the website for a week to catch any errors and make any adjustments if necessary.
4. Maintain
It is extremely important to maintain your website properly so that it runs smoothly and is safe at all times.
WordPress websites are built with WordPress, themes and plugins. As google is continually changing, updates to your plugins and theme need to be carried out. Updates need to be done to keep your website up to date and secure. Let us take the stress away from you by choosing from our extremely affordable website maintenance plans.
